3x Healthy Hot Chocolate Recipes

A lazy Sunday isn’t complete without a cup of hot chocolate. Topping it with a generous layer of whipped cream. Right? Unfortunately, the traditional version of hot cholate contains a lot of sugars and fat. On average a cup of hot chocolate contains – I kid you not – about 4 to 5 cubes of sugar! Hence: 3 healthier versions.

#1 Original Hot Chocolate

 Ingredients:
– 200 ml unsweetened almond milk
– 1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
– ½ tbsp. coconut blossom sugar

How to make it:
Stir the almond milk, cocoa powder, and coconut blossom sugar together. After this, heat up the mixture in a little saucepan. Check the temperature using a ladle. When the coconut milk is warm enough, take the pan off the fire. Pour the hot chocolate into a cup and there you go! You just made yourself a cup of your own healthy hot chocolate.

#2 Coconut Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
– 200 ml coconut milk
– 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder

How to make it:
Are you a fan of bounty? Then this coconut hot chocolate is perfect for you! Combine the coconut milk with the cocoa powder. Heat the coconut mixture up in a saucepan on medium heat. Check the temperature using a ladle. Take the pan of the heat when the coconut milk is warm enough. Pour the coconut milk in a cup and decorate it with some coconut flakes.

#3 Hot Chocolate with Almond and Banana

Ingredients:
– 200 ml unsweetened almond milk
– ½ banana
– 3 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
– a pinch of cinnamon

How to make it:
Grab a blender and pour the 200 ml of almond milk into it. Cut the banana up into pieces and add this to the blender. Finally, add the cocoa powder to the blender. Pour the chocolate mixture into a little saucepan and heat this up. Take the pan off the heat when the mixture starts to boil. Pour the hot chocolate into a glass and top it with some cinnamon.
